problem
MAUSAIC is rich with creativity, but inconsistent visual documentation made it difficult to communicate its identity clearly. Photography styles varied, workflows were unstructured, and event coverage lacked cohesion. Without a unified visual direction, the organization struggled to present itself as a focused and professional creative community. Great work was happening, but it was not always being seen or understood.
solution
As Photography Director, I established a cohesive visual system aligned with MAUSAIC’s mission and creative values. This included structured photography guidelines, coverage planning, editing standards, and volunteer training. Each photograph was designed to serve a purpose beyond documentation. It became part of a larger narrative about student creativity and collaboration. The system empowered student photographers to grow while ensuring consistency and clarity across platforms.
With intention came transformation. MAUSAIC’s events and initiatives began to speak more clearly through visuals that felt authentic and unified. Photography became a tool for storytelling rather than just record-keeping. Through each image, the organization strengthened its identity and made its creative community easier to recognize, trust, and support.

Guided by the vision of strengthening MAUSAIC’s visual identity, the organization brought together a team of student photographers, layout artists, and creatives to build a more intentional photography department. I led the effort by establishing clear direction, training standards, and creative workflows that aligned with the needs of the Multimedia Arts community. Our team immersed itself in research and practice studying visual communication, campus photography requirements, and brand cohesion to develop a unified system for documenting events and student work.
